The final consonants of the Vietnamese language are represented by the following letters - Các phụ âm cuối của tiếng Việt được thể hiện bằng các chữ cái sau:

Final semi-vowels (u/o, i/y)

The Vietnamese language has two final vowels [i] and [u], which are pronunced shorter the nuclei vowels "i" and "u". However, their degree of length depends on the types of nuclei vowels that they follow: after a long nuclei vowel they are pronunced shorter, after short vowel they are pronunced longer) - 

Tiếng Việt có hai nguyên âm cuối [i] và [u], được phát âm ngắn hơn nguyên âm i và u. Tuy nhiên, độ dài của chúng phụ thuộc vào nguyên âm mà chúng theo sau. Nếu sau nguyên âm dài chúng được phát âm ngắn hơn, nếu sau nguyên âm ngắn chúng được phát âm dài hơn.

Ví dụ (Ex):

tai (ear) - tay (hand)

cao (high, tall) - cau (betel nut)
