1. Âm và chữ H h - Sound & letters H h

♦ Phát âm h [h] – Pronouncing h [h]

H [h] is a voiced consonant. When producing this consonant, the lips half open, tongue lowered to let air escape, larynx does not vibrate. This sound [h] is pronounced almost like the English vowel [h] as in hot, behind, hello.

H is the initial consonant that can combine with all nuclear vowels and the labialization u/o.

2. Âm và chữ L l - Sound & letter L l 

♦ Phát âm l [l] - Pronouncing l [l]

The initial consonants “l”, when pronouncing, curl the tongue slowly, touching the upper teeth, the larynx vibrates, the lips fully open, the tip of the tongue slowly curls up and places it on the upper lip.

It is similar to the English consonant sounds /l/. For example: light, feel.

L is the initial consonant that can combine with all nuclear vowels and the labialization u/o.

3. Âm và chữ M m - Sound & letter M m 

♦ Phát âm m [m] - Pronouncing m [m]

The initial consonant m is similar to the English consonant sound /m/. When pronouncing, the lips close and the air escapes through the nose. For example: má - mác, mạ - mạc.

The final consonant m is created like the similar initial consonant m. For example: nhím, tụm.

4. Âm và chữ N n - Sound & letter N n 

♦ Phát âm n [n] - Pronouncing n [n] 

The initial consonant “n” is similar to the English consonant sound /n/. When pronouncing, the lips are parted, the tip of the tongue touches the upper gums, blocking the air from coming out of the nose. For example: na, nắng. The final consonant “n” is created like the similar initial consonant “n”. For example: cân, bắn
