1. Âm và chữ PH ph - Sound & letters PH ph

♦ Phát âm ph [f] – Pronouncing ph [f]

The initial consonant ph is similar to the English consonant sound /f/. When pronouncing, the upper jaw lightly touches the lower lip. Be careful not to vibrate the vocal cords in your throat when pronouncing. For example: phúc, phí.

Ph can combine with all nuclear vowels and the labialization u/o.

2. Âm và chữ V v - Sound & letter V v 

♦ Phát âm v [v] - Pronouncing v [v]

The initial consonants v [v] is similar to the English consonant sound /v/, for example: về, vợ. When pronouncing, let the upper teeth lightly touch the lower lip, pushing the air out between the upper teeth and lower lip, so that you can hear the sound of the air escaping. For example: view, move.

Note that: In the Northern dialect, v [v] is often pronounced as d [z].
